The Knokkon ecological fabric with fishbone pattern has a silky, matt gloss from the Stinging nettle. The Stinging nettle is called the Nordic Silk for good reason. Stinging nettle is the most breathable natural fibre thanks to its core fibre structure, which makes the fabric particularly comfortable against the skin. The hemp used in the fabric gives the fabric a light, rough feel. The fabric is suitable for, for example, evening dresses and other festive dresses.
Knokkon’s goal is to keep the products’ carbon footprint to a minimum. The materials are ecological and procured as close as possible. The Stinging nettle used in the fabric (urtica dioica) and hemp fibre are cultivated organically and ethically in Germany. The fibres are mechanically removed using an innovative method and no water is used in this process. The cotton used to bind the Stinging nettle and hemp is ethically and organically produced in Turkey. The yarns used in the fabric are spun in Germany. Design and productions of the fabrics are Finnish.
The nettle-hemp-cotton fabric is an ecological choice also because no pesticides or pesticides are used in the cultivation of the materials. Nettle and hemp fibre need only rain to grow, which also saves groundwater.
Thank you for choosing an ethically produced organic product!
