Knokkon’s panama fabric is thicker and slightly stiffer than other ties. Knokkon panama fabric is suitable for both clothing and interior textiles. The nettle fiber gives the fabric a silky feel and a matte sheen. Nettle is the most breathable natural fiber and has been popular with royals who had nettle fibre in various textiles from curtains to underwear until the early 19th century. The fabric softens and turns a little lighter with every wash.
Knokkon’s goal is to keep the products’ carbon footprint to a minimum. The materials are ecological and procured as close as possible. The nettle (urtica dioica) used in the fabric is cultivated organically and ethically in Germany. The fibers are mechanically removed without water using an innovative method. The cotton used to bind the bast fibres is ethically and organically produced in Turkey. The yarns used in the fabric are spun in Germany. Design and productions of the fabric is Finnish. The nettle-cotton fabric is an ecological choice also because no pesticides or pesticides are used in the cultivation of the materials. Nettle needs only rain to grow, which also saves groundwater.
